Client: Neff Corporation When Neff Corporation, a publicly-traded supplier of heavy equipment for the construction industry, decided it was time to replace their aging Hypercom WAN (Wide Area Network), they turned to Western Digitech. Western Digitech engineers worked with Neff's IT department to design a reliable Cisco WAN, powered by the latest Cisco routers and Sprint Frame Relay circuits, capable of routing AS/400 SNA traffic as well as TCP/IP traffic to 92 remote offices. Client: Prudential Building Materials Prudential Building Materials is a multi-million dollar building materials company headquartered in Miami, FL with nine branch locations throughout the United States. In 1998, Western Digitech worked with senior management to design a comprehensive strategic plan for the new network. PBM provides connectivity to its AS/400 for all remote offices via a frame relay network with 6 Compaq ProLiant 3000 servers running Citrix WinFrame 1.7 in the Miami headquarters. This unique solution allows PBM to extend the power of its network to its branch offices at a minimal expense. Client: Stephens, Lynn, Klein, LaCava, Hoffman & Puya, P.A. Stephens, Lynn, Klein, LaCava, Hoffman & Puya, P.A. is a large Miami-based law firm with remote offices in Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Tampa. Western Digitech installed LANs (local area networks) in all four offices, and designed and implemented the firm's wide area network which securely connects all four offices and provides high-speed Internet access to all users. Western Digitech supports these systems on an ongoing basis and provides regular training for individual users. Recently Western Digitech extended the power of the network to the homes of the attorneys and staff members by installing a Citrix remote access solution. This solution also allows network connectivity from anywhere in the world for authorized users via the Internet. Client: Thornton Davis & Fein, P.A. In 1998 Western Digitech was hired by this well-known Miami law firm to design and implement its next generation local area network. The firm's number one priority was to minimize disruption to its business when the network was installed. They also wanted a network that would be relatively service-free. The network was designed and built at Western Digitech's office, and implemented over a weekend. WD engineers and trainers were on-site Monday and Tuesday, perfecting the system and giving additional on site training as needed. By Wednesday, WD engineers had finished ironing out the last kinks. In the 36 months since, the system has run very smoothly, requiring only four site visits by WD engineers. Client: St. Thomas Episcopal School Western Digitech became involved with the school in 1999, when the school's associate director, Kitty Finnerman, contacted us requesting network support services. At the time they were engaged in a project which required them to extend e-mail and file & print services to a group of 100 students who were piloting a new educational program built around student use of laptop computers. Their existing mail solution was not adequate for the task, and trying to make it work had created many other network problems. Western Digitech engineers came on-site and immediately stabilized the network. They designed a new mail solution based on Novell's GroupWise 5.5 messaging platform, upgraded the operating system to NetWare 5 and deployed the latest version of the NetWare Client. Today, the project has become a huge success - students can collaborate with teachers on projects via e-mail, and they turn in assignments the same way. At St. Thomas Episcopal School, you are more likely to see students with laptop bags than book bags! Client: Sargeant Marine, Inc. In 1999 Steve Roos, the Chief Operating Officer of Sargeant Marine, called on Western Digitech to design and install the company's new computer system. The construction of their new building, which would house the company headquarters, was nearly complete and they wanted to leave the old, unreliable network behind when they moved. Because their organization is involved in managing large ships as they operate around the world, remote access and portability were major design priorities. Western Digitech opted to install a complete Microsoft solution, including NT Server 4.0, NT Workstation 4.0, and Exchange 5.5. The solution includes inbound/outbound network faxing as well as remote access through RAS. Staff members now travel extensively without losing access to the network, or to any critical data, which means they can work as effectively from client sites as they can from the office. |
